Big Tech once again has silenced reporter and independent journalist Savanah Hernandez. Earlier this month, Twitter banned Hernandez for the third time after she posted a viral video featuring interviews with participants in the Washington DC Pride March. In the video posted via the @AnonNews14 account, Hernandez asks attendees about their gender identities and sexual orientation.
The journalist said the account was banned without warning; Twitter cited double ban evasion as the reason.
“I have been baselessly banned from Twitter three times after breaking national news,” Hernandez said.
The initial banning of Hernandez was in November 2020 when she shared footage of the National Anthem being sung at the Million MAGA March in DC. The video went viral and was retweeted by former President Donald Trump. The second ban occurred earlier this year after Hernandez's Rapid Fire podcast account shared her quickly-turned-viral interview with a female NCAA swimmer whose teammate had lost her spot in the competition to transgender swimmer Lia Thomas.
According to Hernandez, Twitter has provided no warning or explanation other than "ban evasion" for each shut-out from the platform. The reason for the first ban on her personal account, she said, only came after she appealed her 2020 suspension and waited over a month for a reply. An appeal filed regarding the second ban on her podcast's account received no response.
Hernandez asserts she has maintained only one account at the time each ban took place and that each account block occurred after a posted video went viral and gained national attention. Her journalistic tone and approach are often neutral, nuanced, and moderate. When conducting interviews, she is known for offering minimal commentary, instead letting the interviewee expose any concerning content. Hernandez's goal is to allow the audience to reach its own conclusions.
Twitter continues to abuse its policies, enforcing questionable and hypocritical suspensions and bans. The platform's draconian content policies hinder its users' right to free speech. Parler, however, remains a true haven for free speech and welcomes anyone wanting to exercise his or her First Amendment rights.
Ms. Hernandez is in a similar situation to the "Libs of Tic Tok" originator. What a conflicted lot these leftists are - they want everyone to parrot their falsehoods about men and women, but they also are deeply offended when their actual ideas, self-expressed, are disseminated. Please read "1984" again; you'll see what happens when the powers that be require everyone to say and agree with lies.
The latter part of "A Tale of Two Cities" is pertinent now as well; just see how cancelling was done after the 1789 French Revolution. The leftists are working assiduously to create a society that no one would care to live in.
I was just suspended from tweeter for the second time. This time was because I talked about an incident that happened when I was active duty and I had to shoot back at people that were shooting at me.... I'm done with tweeter...
