Parler CEO George Farmer was a guest at the PIVOT MIA conference on Wednesday in Miami, Florida, joining experts from various sectors to discuss the conventions of media, fintech, education, entertainment, and more.
Farmer shared the main stage with Gettr CEO Jason Miller and moderator Casey Newton.
Speaking on matters regarding the future of personal rights on social media, Farmer emphasized the need for nuance. At some point, he said, you will be the subject of free speech. The archaeology mob will come after you. At the end of the day, we all make mistakes, and you need mercy and grace. If we don't have that, you will all get wiped out.
He also discussed new user growth when Big Tech censors and bans users, noting a nascent consumer demand for anti-censorship, free speech platforms. Adding that platforms which cater to that demand flourish.
During the audience Q&A, Farmer addressed Parler's stance on content moderation, stressing that the platform permits the maximum allowable free speech, whereas competitors are doing the opposite.
Mr. Farmer - - The much-loved sitcom The Good Life ran from 1975 until June 1978 when it ended with a special Royal Command Performance to celebrate Her Majesty's reign. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were present for the recording of the episode When I'm 65. Note : after the performance, Her Majesty shakes hands with the cast & crew. Second to last hand shake is someone named GEORGE FARMER
